Events - Battle of Chapters
This Global Seminar, ShARE introduces the “Battle of the Chapters” - a tournament of 5 events in which the ShARE Chapters battle it out to win the “Global Seminar Champion 2011”.
FORMAT OF TOURNAMENT
Each of the 5 events will contribute to the cumulative score. The Chapter with the highest cumulative score gets the title.
NOTE: Please note that the Ice Breaker event requires prior preparation by the participating Chapters.
Ice Breaker
Get to know your counterparts across the globe and what they have achieved in their ShARE Chapters.
FORMAT OF EVENT
Each Chapter is given a 7 minute slot to put its best foot forward to be remembered by the audience. What each Chapter does in the 7-minute slot (PPT/video/______) is up to its creative genius as long as the show is about the ShARE Chapter and nothing else! The goal is to make your Chapter have the highest recall because the top 5 will be decided by the recall of Hugo and Sebastian and the winner among the 5 teams will be decided by audience poll!
PS – Market Research suggests that humour boosts recall.
The Right Decision
“It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.” – Tony Robbins
A wrong decision can break your case. A series of right ones makes it! Don on your strategy and decision making hats and get cracking at the scenarios given!
FORMAT OF EVENT
A set of business choices will be given in the first round. Teams will be given 2 hours to understand them and submit their decision and the analysis leading to the decision. Top 5-7 teams with the right decision and depth in analysis qualify to the next round which presents various sub-choices in the decision taken. The finalist teams are required to present a business plan the following day based on their decision in the second round.
War of Words
The battle cannot be complete without a war of words – a debate. On the Social Business Day, the teams engage in powerful and thought-provoking discussions, debate and rebuttals on unanswered social business questions.
FORMAT OF EVENT
A preliminary round (written) on a generic social business question will be conducted. The top 6-8 teams will proceed to the final round in which they will debate on any of the given 3-4 topics as follows:
1. The only social responsibility of business is to make profits
2. Social businesses need not be financially sustainable
3. Corporate Social Responsibility is a good branding exercise but has little social significance
4. Business schools should introduce compulsory courses in Social Business/Social Entrepreneurship to sensitize the students
Uncertain Europe
Manage an investment portfolio of bonds of European countries as the market unravels news on events which influence the value of the portfolio.
FORMAT OF EVENT
The format of the event will be announced on the spot.

ShARE is an international students’ think-tank. ShARE's first team was created in Shanghai in November 2002. Past ShARE Seminars
The ShARE World Seminar happens once in a year and gathers representatives from all ShARE eams. It is the most important event for ShARE members and one of the rare opportunity for our members to physically meet. Last World Seminar was held in Shanghai, for over 100 participants.
