Emerging Globally
ShARE will organize its 7th World Seminar in Bangalore , in December 2011, under the theme “Emerging Globally”. We are expecting around 120 students from the countries in which we are present. Why this theme ? Globalization is having a tremendous impact on our society. We are now moving on from a global crisis that has shown the effects of this phenomenon. But are we indeed moving towards a more global world? Are we ‘emerging globally’? While some boundaries between countries, people and culture have decreased, others seem to be growing, widening the existing gaps. What will be the effects of these dynamics in our lives? India and China are the leading emerging economies, but lately we have been seeing a spectacular rise of some advanced emerging players. Indonesia, Turkey, Mexico, Nigeria, South Korea would be some examples. These ‘new’ rapidly emerging economies will have a key role in the next decades. How will the most developed economies respond to that? Will India and China have to struggle to keep their leading positions as emerging markets? How will these countries ‘ culture evolve? During this seminar we want to address these matters through workshops and lectures and debate the answers on these socioeconomic issues in order to better serve the human being ‘s needs. We would in particular look at the following questions during the days of the seminar.
Events
Events topics:
Social business How can business directly solve social issues caused by these changes? Is profit maximizing the only equation that a business has to solve?
